  Came upon a Harvest Festival while traveling a bit northwest of Boston last weekend. Look! Pottery yarn bowls! Lovely designs by Judy Nevius I purchased the robins' egg blue bowl with raspberry contrast and it is sitting next to my knitting chair (while I wait for the tendonitis to heal).

A nice surprise to find this gem: Fiber Farmers Market, (703-244-0525), no entrance fee and held on Saturdays at 1 pm at the Vienna Community Center in Vienna, Virginia! The market was bustling with shoppers and the yarn and fibers were flying. The knit (not felted) measurement from the purl round 1 to the bind-off  is 9 1/2" tall and when laying flat it is about the same measurement across the widest portion. Hmmm...I put some tapered candles in mine, but, it also would be handy to hold the outgoing mail by the door!

Friday's "Biggie" Design Clue: This project has 32 rounds before the bind off.  For the "adventurous": use some small bits of your stash felting yarns (all the same weight) by knitting a stripe version, with complimentary same solid color on rounds 32 and bind off. What a fun afternoon, I purchased some extremely soft yarn at LightFoot Farm in Kennebunk and Alpaca Fields,  (brown shade lower right corner in photos) in Berwick. My custom Flashbag has arrived! What a fun way to tote my WIP around with me. I sent them a collage of all my pattern pictures which they print, laminate, and stitch up (like quiliting). The interior even has a pocket!

Working on a new pattern, a cable scarf made with Dream In Color and Malabrigo. I enjoy knitting cables especially when done on every 11th row! The scarf may be knit with decorative border on one end of scarf only, or graft two sections in the middle. Especially nice for a shorter version neck wrap in the finer weight yarn!
